Rumble Boxing Alpharetta

Your First Class at Rumble Boxing

Nervous? Excited? Both? That is completely normal. Here is everything you need to know before your first Rumble Boxing class in Alpharetta — from what to wear to what to expect once the music starts.

No Experience? No Problem.

Let us get the biggest concern out of the way: you do not need any boxing experience to take a Rumble class. You do not need to be in great shape. You do not need to know what a jab is. You do not need to be coordinated, athletic, or tough. You just need to show up.

Rumble Boxing was designed from the ground up for people who have never boxed before. Our trainers break down every combination, call out every punch by number, and coach you through every round. The room is dark, the music is loud, and everyone around you is focused on their own workout — not watching you. By round 3, the nerves will be gone and the adrenaline will take over.

Our members range from college students to retirees, from marathon runners to people who have not worked out in years. The one thing they all have in common? They all walked through our doors for the first time feeling exactly the way you feel right now.

Before Class: How to Prepare

Step 1: Book Your Free Intro Class

Head to our booking page and pick a class time that works for you. Your first class is completely free — no credit card, no strings attached. We offer classes throughout the day, so you can find a time that fits your schedule. Morning, midday, and evening options are available.

Step 2: Know What to Wear

Wear comfortable athletic clothing that you can move freely in. Think: leggings or shorts, a t-shirt or tank top, and a good sports bra if applicable. For shoes, cross-trainers or regular athletic shoes work best. Avoid running shoes with thick, curved soles — you want a shoe with a flat, stable base since you will be pivoting and shifting your weight.

Step 3: What to Bring

Bring a water bottle and a small towel. That is it. We provide complimentary boxing wraps for first-timers, and all the equipment you need (aqua bags, dumbbells, mats) is already in the studio. We have cubbies to store your phone, keys, and bag during class.

Step 4: Arrive 15 Minutes Early

Plan to arrive at the studio 15 minutes before class starts. Our front desk team will check you in, hand you your wraps, and show you how to put them on. They will also give you a quick tour of the studio so you know where everything is. Our Alpharetta location is at 6110 North Point Parkway, Suite C Free parking — next to Sleep Number in the Target parking lot.

Step 5: Eat Smart

Have a light snack about 60 to 90 minutes before class — a banana, toast with peanut butter, or a small protein bar works great. Avoid heavy meals right before class. And drink plenty of water throughout the day leading up to your workout. You are going to sweat.

During Class: What to Expect

The Room

The studio is dark with dramatic lighting focused on the trainer and the bags. The music is loud and energizing — think hip-hop, pop, and EDM. Each member has their own station with an aqua bag and a floor space. You will not be in anyone's way and nobody will be in yours.

The Format

The class is 45 minutes divided into 10 rounds. You alternate between boxing rounds on the aqua bag and strength training rounds on the floor. Each round is about 3 minutes. Your trainer calls out every combination by number (1 = jab, 2 = cross, 3 = lead hook, and so on), so you just follow their lead. Check out our classes page for a full round-by-round breakdown.

Your Pace

Go at your own pace. If you need to take a break, take a break. If a combination feels too fast, throw fewer punches. If a floor exercise is too challenging, your trainer will show you a modification. There is no scoreboard, no competition, and no judgment. The only person you are trying to beat is yesterday's version of yourself.

The Energy

Rumble classes have a contagious energy. The music, the trainer's coaching, the sound of the entire room hitting the bags in unison — it creates an experience that is completely different from working out on your own. Most first-timers say the class flew by and they cannot believe how fast 45 minutes went.

After Class: What Comes Next

Cool down and stretch. Your trainer will lead a brief cool-down at the end of class. Take an extra few minutes to stretch on your own if you need it. Your muscles will thank you tomorrow.

Hydrate and refuel. Drink plenty of water after class. Have a balanced meal with protein and carbs within an hour or two of your workout to help your muscles recover.

Expect some soreness. If this is your first workout in a while — or your first time boxing — you will likely feel sore the next day (or the day after). This is normal and means your muscles are adapting. The soreness fades as you build consistency.

No pressure to sign up. After class, our team will check in to see how you liked it. If you want to learn about membership options, we are happy to walk you through them. If you want to think about it, that is completely fine too. We want you to join because you are excited — not because you felt pressured.

Common First-Timer Concerns (Addressed)

"I'm not fit enough."

Rumble is where you GET fit. Every exercise can be modified. Go at your own pace, take breaks when you need them, and build up over time. Fitness is a journey, not a prerequisite.

"I have no coordination."

Neither did most of our members on day one. The numbered punch system makes it easy to follow along, and the dark room means nobody is watching your footwork. Coordination comes with practice.

"I'm worried I'll slow everyone down."

Impossible. There is no group pace at Rumble. Everyone works at their own station at their own speed. You literally cannot slow anyone else down.

"I don't want to go alone."

Many of our members come solo — and many of them have made their closest friends here. But you are also welcome to bring a friend. They can book their own free intro class.

First-Timer FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be in shape before starting at Rumble?

Not at all. Rumble Boxing classes are designed for every fitness level. Whether you have been working out for years or this is your very first fitness class, our trainers provide modifications and encourage you to work at your own pace. Many of our most dedicated members started their fitness journey right here at Rumble.

Will I look silly if I don't know how to box?

Absolutely not. The vast majority of our members had zero boxing experience before their first class. The room is dark, the music is loud, and everyone is focused on their own workout. Our trainers call out every punch by number so you can follow along in real time. By round 3, you will feel like a natural.

How early should I arrive for my first class?

We recommend arriving 15 minutes before your first class. This gives our front desk team time to check you in, get you set up with boxing wraps, show you around the studio, and answer any questions. After your first visit, arriving 5-10 minutes early is plenty.

Is there sparring or contact with other people?

No. There is absolutely no sparring, no partner work, and no physical contact with other members. You punch an aqua bag — that is it. Rumble is a boxing-inspired fitness class, not a boxing match. You will never be asked to hit or be hit by anyone.

What if I can't finish the whole class?

That is completely okay. Take breaks whenever you need them. Grab water, catch your breath, and jump back in when you are ready. Nobody will judge you. Every single person in that room had a first class, and every single one of them had to build up their endurance over time.

Can I bring a friend to their first class too?

Yes! We love when new members bring friends. Your friend can also book their own free intro class. Working out with someone you know can make the experience even more fun and less intimidating.

What happens after my free intro class?

After class, there is zero pressure. Our team will be available to answer questions and share membership options if you are interested, but there is no hard sell. Many members sign up right after their first class because the experience speaks for itself — but you are welcome to take your time.
